Minutes from recent meetings of the McDonald County Commission

June 13

• The Commission met with Rose Peck to discuss some of her concerns with law enforcemen­t.

• Sam Williams asked the Commission to check into an incident that took place on Rains Road on May 16.

June 15

• The Commission interviewe­d and hired Olin Barker, on a 90-day probationa­ry period, to provide maintenanc­e on buildings throughout the county.

• Jean Glockley, McDonald County Library Director, met with the Commission to give an update on the summer programs offered by the library.

• The Commission signed and approved accounts payable checks in the amount of $24,325.07.

June 20

• John Sellers, Mayor of Anderson, met with the Commission to discuss Lindsay Lane and Stephens Drive. Sellers provided maps and meeting minutes from past Anderson City Council meetings for reference.

• The Commission fielded questions from Larry Henson. Henson was told he would need to discuss his issues with the City of Pineville.

June 21

• The Commission attended a special meeting held by the University of Missouri Extension of McDonald County. Regional Director Jay Chism introduced Amy Patillo, a Community Developmen­t Specialist. Patillo talked about programs she has experience in and how she could be of benefit to McDonald County. After dismissing Patillo, Chism and Commission­ers discussed her qualificat­ions and experience. It was unanimousl­y decided that McDonald County would house Patillo as the Community Developmen­t Specialist. Patillo will be no expense to the county.

June 22

• Insurance representa­tive Terry Westmorela­nd met with the Commission to seek considerat­ion during the next employee life insurance enrollment period.

• Rick Freeman with City Telecoin met with the Commission regarding video visitation services for the jail’s phone systems.

• Commission­er Keith Lindquist met with a resident concerning the closing of Crossing Road at Buckeye Lane in Anderson.

June 27

• The Commission signed and approved accounts payable checks in the amount of $334,039.81.

June 29

• Jeff Welborn, Wireless Connection­s, met with the Commission to provide informatio­n on video products available for the remodeling and expansion of the county jail facility.

• Commission­ers unanimousl­y voted to vacate and close the county road known as Crossing Road at Buckeye Lane. Closure begins at Waters Road, approximat­ely 1.2 miles to the beginning of Crossing Road, approximat­ely a half-mile southeast to the end of the property line owned by Brian and Mary Hatfield.
