Minutes from recent meetings of the McDonald County Commission
June 13
• The Commission met with Rose Peck to discuss some of her concerns with law enforcement.
• Sam Williams asked the Commission to check into an incident that took place on Rains Road on May 16.
June 15
• The Commission interviewed and hired Olin Barker, on a 90-day probationary period, to provide maintenance on buildings throughout the county.
• Jean Glockley, McDonald County Library Director, met with the Commission to give an update on the summer programs offered by the library.
• The Commission signed and approved accounts payable checks in the amount of $24,325.07.
June 20
• John Sellers, Mayor of Anderson, met with the Commission to discuss Lindsay Lane and Stephens Drive. Sellers provided maps and meeting minutes from past Anderson City Council meetings for reference.
• The Commission fielded questions from Larry Henson. Henson was told he would need to discuss his issues with the City of Pineville.
June 21
• The Commission attended a special meeting held by the University of Missouri Extension of McDonald County. Regional Director Jay Chism introduced Amy Patillo, a Community Development Specialist. Patillo talked about programs she has experience in and how she could be of benefit to McDonald County. After dismissing Patillo, Chism and Commissioners discussed her qualifications and experience. It was unanimously decided that McDonald County would house Patillo as the Community Development Specialist. Patillo will be no expense to the county.
June 22
• Insurance representative Terry Westmoreland met with the Commission to seek consideration during the next employee life insurance enrollment period.
• Rick Freeman with City Telecoin met with the Commission regarding video visitation services for the jail’s phone systems.
• Commissioner Keith Lindquist met with a resident concerning the closing of Crossing Road at Buckeye Lane in Anderson.
June 27
• The Commission signed and approved accounts payable checks in the amount of $334,039.81.
June 29
• Jeff Welborn, Wireless Connections, met with the Commission to provide information on video products available for the remodeling and expansion of the county jail facility.
• Commissioners unanimously voted to vacate and close the county road known as Crossing Road at Buckeye Lane. Closure begins at Waters Road, approximately 1.2 miles to the beginning of Crossing Road, approximately a half-mile southeast to the end of the property line owned by Brian and Mary Hatfield.
