two sons, Jason Collins and fiancée Tricia of Springdale, Ark, and Lee Ross of Jane; two sisters, Terri Smith and husband Danny of Jane, and Jamie Hock Harvey and Brad Johns of Jane; six grandchild­ren, Mason Collins, Parker Collins, Kevin Shunn, Kaiden Gardner, Harley Collins and Zander Collins; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services were Aug. 5, 2016, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Jane. Pastor Hank Gorman officiated.

Visitation was Aug. 4, 2016, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers, Ark.

Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers was in charge of arrangemen­ts. and Beulah Rogers.

He was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Anderson High School. At the age of 22, he was drafted into the Minor Leagues by the St. Louis Cardinals as a pitcher during the 1951-52 seasons.

On Aug. 25, 1954, in Bentonvill­e, Ark., he was united in marriage to Carol Ann Morgan, and they had four children. For several years he was employed by Teledyne in Neosho, Mo., as a jet mechanic and technician, retiring in 1991. He also farmed throughout his life, raising poultry and cattle. He enjoyed fishing, bird hunting and spending life on his beloved farm. Most importantl­y, he recently gave his life to Christ. Although his family is mourning his passing, they find great comfort in knowing that he has been reunited with his wife and those loved ones gone before him and is now in the very presence of the one who saved him.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Carol Ann Rogers, on March 17, 2007; two brothers, Jack and George Rogers; and two grandsons, Miles Thomas and Jacob Rogers.

He is survived by his four children, Earl Rogers of Bella Vista, Ark., Tama Mueller of Anderson, and Cheryl Thomas and Traci Owens, both of Rogers, Ark.; seven grandchild­ren; five great-grandchild­ren; sister, Madeline Hall of Goodman, Mo.; sister-inlaw, Carley Tagliaferr­i and husband Al of Rohnert Park, Calif.; brother-in-law, Bill Morgan of Bella Vista; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastor Dennis Bergen officiatin­g. Burial will follow in the Banner Cemetery.

Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearer­s are Max Thomas, Sam Thomas, Luke Thomas, Jerry Morgan, Kyle Maihofer and Melvin Jordon.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Memorials are being directed to the Banner Church of the Nazarene, and contributi­ons may be left at the funeral home.
