Thomas Victor ‘Vic’ Tomlinson

March 13, 1918 Aug. 21, 2016 Thomas Victor “Vic” Tomlinson, 98, of Anderson, Mo., died Sunday morning, Aug. 21, 2016, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Mo., after a slow decline in health. He was born on the family farm in Anderson on March 13, 1918, son of the late Thomas and Mary Jane Tomlinson.

He resided on the same beautiful farm of 287 acres along the banks of Indian Creek his entire life.

On Oct. 29, 1938, he was united in marriage to Irene Griffin, and they had three children. Throughout his life, he farmed and raised dairy and beef cattle, a worthy profession he dearly loved. He enjoyed spending time on his tractor and visiting with his neighbors. He was of the Full Gospel Faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Irene Tomlinson, on June 7, 2003; two children, Learon Tomlinson and Louise Gardner; five sisters, Geneva, Elva, Venona, Iva and Vera; and one brother, Gerald.

He is survived by daughter, Wilma Jean Ware of Anderson; four grandchild­ren, Tim Tomlinson, Doug Roberts, Dwayne Roberts and Mara-Lynn Freeman; 17 great-grandchild­ren; several great-great-grandchild­ren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastor P.J. Hutchinson officiatin­g. Burial will follow in the Anderson Cemetery.

The family received friends Wednesday evening in the funeral home chapel.

Memorials are being directed to Anderson Cemetery Care Fund, and contributi­ons may be left at the funeral home.
