July 11, 1943 Aug. 23, 2016 William G. “Henry” McMahan, 73, of Noel, Mo., died Monday, Aug. 23, 2016, at his residence. Henry was born on July 11, 1943, in Noel to the union of Marion and Margaret McMahan.

He married Diana Lynn Blake on Jan. 18, 1991, in Miami, Okla. He proudly served our country in the United States Army for 20 years, retiring as a Sergeant 1st Class. He worked at the Noel Marshall’s office for 20 years, serving as the Marshall for eight years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and taking care of his four-legged children. He cherished time spent with his grandchild­ren. If you were a friend to him, you would be referred to as a “youngun,” and he called the little ones “punkins.”

He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaugh­ter, MaKenna LeAnn Blake.

Henry is survived by his wife, Diana McMahan, of the home; three children, William McMahan and wife Tammy of Anderson, Mo., Matthew Blake and wife Lori of Exeter, Mo., and Mandy Barrett and husband Brandon of Noel; six grandchild­ren, Joshua McMahan, Blake, Bailey and Bryer Barrett, and Maycee and Andrew Blake; three sisters, Carol Ann Hartis of Amarillo, Texas, Sarah May Taylor of Red Oak, Texas, and Thelma Jean Priewe of Baytown, Texas; along with a host of other relatives and friends who will dearly miss him.

Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, at the First Baptist Church in Noel. Dr. Larry Crawford officiated.

Burial with full military honors followed in the Butler Creek Cemetery in Sulphur Springs, Ark. Those honoring
