Mary Malinda Ragland

Nov. 11, 1918 Aug. 26, 2016 Mary Malinda Ragland, 97, of Goodman, Mo., departed this life on Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, at her residence after a brief illness. Mary entered this life on Nov. 11, 1918, in Stella, Mo., one of three daughters born to the late Rufus Henry and Lillie Sealy England. She was a lifelong area resident.

On May 7, 1943, she was united in marriage to Herbert Ragland and together they shared 39 years before his passing on July 13, 1982. For several years, she and Herbert owned and operated Ragland Bag Company located in Goodman. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and reading her Bible. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Goodman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Ragland; and a sister, Neomi England.

She is survived by two sisters, Verlie Spears of California and Minnie Gibson and husband Owen of Anderson, Mo.; one niece; four nephews; several great and great-great nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services were held graveside Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, at Peace Valley Cemetery in Anderson. Bro. Frank Crosby officiated.
