Feb. 14, 1940 Sept. 23, 2016 Roma Ruth Elizabeth (Casey) Cleveland, 76, of Neosho, Mo., died Friday morning, Sept. 23, 2016, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Mo., after a sudden illness.

She entered this life on Feb. 14, 1940, in Pryor, Okla., born to the late Allen and Loreen Casey. She was raised in Neosho and was a 1958 graduate of Neosho High School. She worked at Sunbeam in Neosho for several years, retiring in 1999. After retirement she worked part-time at both Crowder College and Medicalodg­e. She enjoyed working, caring for her animals and spending time in her yard.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim Cleveland, on May 10, 1998; and one brother, Donald Casey.

She is survived by her two sons, James Randall and wife Cindy, and Rocky Randall and wife Dian, all of Neosho; eight grandchild­ren; several great-grandchild­ren; a sister, Allene Brewer of Longview, Mo.; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes.

Arrangemen­ts are under the personal care and direction of the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Mo. Okla., born to the union of the late Virgil and Myrtle Davis. Her formative years were spent in northeaste­rn Oklahoma.

On Oct. 2, 1931, she was united in marriage to Paul Cook. She was a devoted homemaker who centered her life around the needs of her family. She has resided in Southwest City, Mo., since 1977. She enjoyed caring for her home and tending to her yard and flowerbeds. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Southwest City.

She was preceded in death on Nov. 7, 1986, by her husband of 55 years, Paul Cook; son, Marllon Cook; daughter, Lesteree Beard; three brothers, Mack and Virgil Davis and infant Paul; and a sister, Thelma Simmons.

She is survived by one son, Jim Cook and wife Stephanie of Oklahoma City; 10 grandchild­ren; 17 great-grandchild­ren; 14 great-great-grandchild­ren; a sister, Ruby of Wagoner, Okla.; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services were Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, at the First Baptist Church in Southwest City. Pastor Paul Calmes officiated.

Burial followed in the Southwest City Cemetery. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearer­s were Adrian Cook, Shaun Cook, Ernie Beard, Bill Cook, Marllon Cook and Rick Cook.

The family will receive friends Saturday morning at the church.

Memorials are being directed to either the American Cancer Society or the Southwest City Cemetery Care Fund c/o the funeral home.
