City Prosecutin­g Attorney Now City Attorney

Pineville prosecutin­g Attorney Kirk Wattman resigned to become city attorney, Pineville Mayor Gregg Sweeten announced to the City Council on Sept. 27

Sherrie Hansen is now the prosecutin­g attorney.

Sweeten said there was a conflict with Wattman being both city attorney and city prosecutin­g attorney.

The new storage container at the Pineville Elementary School on Main Street was discussed then tabled until the next meeting pending more clarificat­ion regarding its exact location.

Sweeten said, regarding Resolution 16-19 concerning annexation of property on Havenhurst owned by Larry Henson, that it has to be tabled until the property is cleaned up.

Resolution 16-20 concerning annexation of property on Jesse James Road owned by C.J. Malone was approved by the council.

Ordinance 16-15 regarding the regulation and control of livestock, chickens and/ or pigeons within the corporate city limits was tabled for further review.

The city staff employee handbook revision was discussed again and tabled until the next meeting to allow council members to read the contents.

Sweeten said he would research the possibilit­y of getting a water fountain at Myers Park.

The council approved bills in the amount of $2,937.91.
