Volleyball Team Continues Conference Dominance

The McDonald County Lady Mustangs volleyball team remained undefeated in the Big 8 Conference with a 25-13, 25-14 over Lamar on Sept. 27 at MCHS.

The Lady Mustangs improved to 3-0 in conference play, 8-12 overall, heading their Oct. 4 match against Seneca at MCHS. The Indians claimed a 21-25, 25-21, 25-17 win over McDonald County in the Branson tournament earlier this season.

The Lady Mustangs also face conference matches at Monett (Oct. 6), at East Newton (Oct. 11) and at Aurora (Oct. 13). McDonald County hosts its annual tournament beginning at 9 a.m Oct. 8.

McDonald County jumped out to a 12-3 lead in the first game and cruised to the easy win. In the second game, McDonald County led 8-6 before scoring six out the next seven points to stretch the margin to 14-7. Lamar cut the lead to 20-14 before McDonald County scored the final five points of the match.

Bailey Rickett led the Lady Mustangs with 13 kills, eight service points, six digs and two blocks. Destiny Arnall added 18 assists and five service points while Alex Gross had seven service points, five digs and three kills. Lauren Goff led in digs with 16 while Lindsey

Limore chipped in seven kills.

Junior Varsity

Lamar took a 25-19 win in the third game to claim a 26-24, 23-25, 25-19 win in the junior varsity match.
