Commission Accepts Community Bank Loan Bid

Aug. 29

The Commission signed and approved accounts payable checks in the amount of $345,601.

Jill Buisk and Will Cook, of First Community Bank, met with the Commission to discuss a loan bid for the jail project.

Tara Cosgrove, of Arvest Bank, also met with the Commission to discuss a loan bid for the jail project.

Commission­er David Holloway made a motion to accept the loan bid from First Community Bank. Motion passed unanimousl­y.

Aug. 31

Commission­er David Holloway made a motion for the county to pay for county employee’s flu shots. Motion passed unanimousl­y.

Sept. 7

Jeff Banderet, of Great River Engineerin­g, met with the Commission to open four bids for the Oscar Talley bridge replacemen­t project. Bids were received from Hartman & Company; Young General Contractin­g; Branco Enterprise­s; and Lehman Constructi­on.

Bids were tabled for further review.

Sept. 12

The Commission signed and approved accounts payable checks in the amount of $78,492.54.

Commission­er John Bunch made a motion to accept the 2016 budget. Motion passed unanimousl­y.

All Commission­ers, Prosecutin­g Attorney Bill Dobbs, and County Clerk Kimberly Bell attended the Pineville City Budget meeting.

The Commission approached the city council requesting the city permit fee be waived for the County in regards to the jail project. The council asked several questions about the remodeling and expansion of the jail.

The council unanimousl­y voted to waive the city permit fee as well as any city inspection fees.

Sept. 15

Michael Malone and John Feistner with the Natural Resource Conservati­on Service (NRCS) met with the Commission to discuss site-showing notes for three locations in McDonald County – Big Sugar Creek at West Mountain Road near Pineville; Big Sugar Creek at Buzzard Glory Road near Powell; and Buffalo Creek along May Road near Goodman.

Presiding Commission­er Keith Lindquist opened the floor to Malone to discuss the notes as well as procedures with potential contracts for the three projects.

Sept. 19

Jay Chism with the University of Missouri Extension Office introduced the Commission to Jennifer Luts. She will be working at the McDonald County office in Pineville.

Commission­er David Holloway made a motion to accept the Oscar Talley Bridge project bid from Lehman Constructi­on LLC. Motion passed unanimousl­y.

Sept. 21

The Commission signed and approved accounts payable checks in the amount of $132,848.20.

Chris Simon with Tristate Truck Center met with the Commission.

Steven McIntosh, representa­tive for Roy Blunt’s office, met with the Commission.

The Commission opened bids for three NRCS projects throughout the county.

Commission­er Keith Lindquist made a motion to accept bids as follows: Vaughn Dirtworks’ bid for site #1 at Big Sugar Creek and West Mountain Road; Granger Dirtworks’ bid for site #2 at Big Sugar Creek and Buzzard Glory Road; and Granger Dirtworks’ bid for site #3 at Buffalo Creek and May Road. Motion passed unanimousl­y.

Michael Malone with NRCS stated to all in attendance that at a later date a pre-constructi­on conference will be scheduled with each contractor to go over site-showing notes in full detail and proceed with the projects.

NCRS engineer estimates the cost for each project as follows: site #1 at a cost of $134,360; site #2 at a cost of $72,000; and site #3 at a cost of $66,500.

The Commission agreed the awarded contractor­s were below all estimated costs and issued acceptance letters to proceed.
