Extension Offering Ag Training Classes

GALENA — Agricultur­e and other specialist­s in southwest Missouri working with University of Missouri Extension are planning a large number of winter trainings and conference­s covering a variety of timely agricultur­e and horticultu­re topics.

The published list below provides a comprehens­ive list of each event, the dates, times and locations for those events, and registrati­on informatio­n. A regularly updated list can be found on the Greene County Extension website at http://extension.missouri.edu/greene.

Preregistr­ation is required on many of these meetings.

January

• Master Beekeeping Level 1 Class, “Introducti­on to Bees and Beekeeping,” 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Jan. 14, at Botanical Center, 2400 S. Scenic Ave., Springfiel­d. Cost of the class is $75 for required book and class materials. Dan Cropper, certified beekeeper from West Plains, will be teaching this University of Missouri designed class and curriculum. • Master Gardener Core Training, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, Feb. 16 to April 6 in Springfiel­d. Most of the classes will be held at the Botanical Center, 2400 South Scenic, Springfiel­d, with a few of the classes being held at the Library Station in Springfiel­d. The cost to attend the classes is $150 per person or $255 for couples sharing a textbook.
