J. Edward Gooch
Feb. 17, 1935 Dec. 17, 2016 J. Edward Gooch, 81, Powell, Mo., died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016. He was born in Mexico, Mo., on Feb. 17, 1935, to Helen and Gene Gooch.
He moved to Rogers to assist with the growing family business. Opening his own body shop “Grouch’s,” he soon became known for his competitive pricing and quality craftsmanship. He was best known for his honesty and integrity in business dealings throughout the four-state area.
He was a veteran and proudly served in the U.S. Army.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife Brenda of 39 years; children of this combined family, Gaye Neff of Rogers, Ark., Steve Gooch of Pea Ridge, Ark., Diane Gooch of Springdale, Ark., Beverly Quillen and husband Randall of Arkadelphia, Ark., Justin Gooch of Fayetteville, Ark., Jeff Rasor and wife Corina of Bridgman, Mich., Curtis Crouse of Powell, and Travis Crouse of Bella Vista, Ark.; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brother, Gene Kenneth Gooch and wife Beth of Batesville, Ark.
Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at Bella Vista Baptist Church with Pastor Mike McCauley officiating.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m.
