God Places People In Our Lives

- Submitted by Susan Overstreet Pineville First Baptist Church

Our Sunday morning message was brought to us by Associate Pastor Ryan Crawford.

Please pray this week for our teenagers. Their recent trip to the Youth Conference renewed and restored our faith and hope for our future leaders. Prayer requests were also asked for the teenagers who recently had a wreck in McDonald County. The life of Lillian Wanders was taken too soon.

How would you like to have a personal relationship with God such as Moses did — sitting face to face on a mountain having a conversation with God?

“And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp; but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle. Exodus 32:11.

Does your faith leave an impact on someone else? Does it make a difference in someone’s life? Does your faith influence a lost Christian?

We don’t need another “somebody” in America’s eye, but rather a person who has been under the spirit and where the glory can be given to God.

Going to church, reading the Bible and having prayer time gives us a closer relationship with God. A true relationship with God is when the Holy Spirit dwells within our hearts.

Can you imagine Moses being told by God in mid conversation to shut up?

“Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people. Exodus 32:13.

The acronym G.R.A.C.E. reminds us that God riches at Christ’s expense. Have your read your Bible, studied the word of God or been a witness to someone? Being in God’s presence and becoming a blessing to someone is getting down off that mountain!

Have you ever thought about the people we encounter? God places people in our lives for a reason. Do you have a burden for the people? Do you care? When making a case for God, do you do what you think or do what God says?

The Old Testament prophet Jeremiah had a burden all his life.

“Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name, But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.” Jeremiah 20:9. God has created us for a purpose.

Does your music or the television shows you watch give glory to God? Are you bold in his presence? The song “Who Is On the Lord’s Side?” reminds us to ask whose side are you on. We are either on the side of God or darkness. The Word of God declares there are only two camps.

Do you choose Christ or the world? There is no compromise possible between these two. Exodus 32:26 states “Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the Lord’s side? Let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.”

Moses told God he did not have the speech, but in God’s presence he was willing to continue and go forward. Will you be willing and stand in what you believe this week?

Have you read your Bible today? If not, read Philippians.

If you could say just one last thing to someone today, what would it be?
