Pineville Hosting Exciting Events

RACES, MOVIES AND AN EASTER EGG HUNT PLANNED

Pineville will host a variety of exciting events in coming weeks. From races to movies to an Easter Egg Hunt, the events are certain to offer fun, family-friendly entertainm­ent.

Events include:

March 18 — The 2nd Annual County Trailblaze­r. The event is set for March 18 and features a 5K certified course, a 10K and a 13-mile bike ride. A duathlon will not be offered this year as part of the event, organizers said. A sufficient number of duathlon registrant­s did not register. All proceeds from the events will be utilized to help build a trail connecting Pineville and Anderson. Registrati­on forms are available at Pineville City Hall, 503 Main Street. March 18 — Free Movie Night — “Finding Dory.” The movie, “Finding Dory,” is the first featured movie in the season’s line-up. The movie will begin at 6 p.m. on March 18 at the new safe room/gym at 8th and W at the Pineville Elementary School. Movie nights, which are free, will kick off in March and conclude in October. Movie nights will not take place in July and August, due to the heat. Concession­s will be sold.

March 25 — Annual Pancake Breakfast to support the Pineville Volunteer Fire Department. The Pineville Grill will host its annual benefit breakfast from 6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, at the restaurant to raise money for the Pineville Volunteer Fire Department. The Pineville Grill is located at 501 Main, Pineville. For informatio­n, call 417-223-4154.

April 8 — Redneck 5K/ walk. The family-friendly Redneck 5K walk/run is set for April 8 on the Pineville Square. In addition to the run, the event will feature a Cornhole Competitio­n. April 15 — The 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt. The free event will take place at 2 p.m. on the Pineville Square. Details will be announced closer to the event.

April 22 — Spring Clean Up. The metal and tire clean-up effort for Pineville residents will take place from 9 a.m. to noon that day. More details will be released in coming weeks. For informatio­n, contact City Hall by calling 417-223-4368. City Hall is located at 503 Main Street, Pineville.

April 22 — Movie on the Square — “Moana.” The free movie will be shown at 6 p.m. that day, on the Pineville Square. Concession­s will be sold.
