Powerlifters Finish Ninth At State Meet
McDonald County High School finished ninth out of 15 teams at the Missouri Powerlifting Championships held March 17 at Glendale High School in Springfield.
Top lifts for the Mustangs included a 555-pound back squat by Nolen Baisch for a new state record in the 250-pound weight class. Baisch later recorded a personal record of 580 pounds in a fourth attempt. Elliott Wolfe recorded a 540-pound deadlift in the unlimited heavyweight division.
Individual class rankings for McDonald County are:
• Erin Yang, 125 pound class, second place
• Marshall Foreman, 155 pound division, 10th place
• Micah Burkholder, 185 pound division, seventh place
• Isrrael De Santiago, 195 pound division, third place
• Jake Will, 210 pound division, second place
• Nolen Baisch, 250 pound division, seventh place
• Elliott Wolfe, unlimited heavyweight division, third place.
