Viola Mae Williams, 95, of Grove, Okla., previously of Atoka, Okla., for 30 years, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017, at her residence in Grove with her loving family by her side. She was born on June 1, 1921, in Guy Union, N.M., to the late Noah and Pearl (Weese) Oldfield.

She loved to make beautiful quilts for her family. She loved plants, gardening and canning for the winter. She really enjoyed watching birds in her trees. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Grove Ward. Her life revolved around her family and she loved them dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first and second husbands, Gilbert Biddle and Don Williams; and her beloved son, Donald Williams.

She is survived by her daughters, Martha Lard and her domestic partner, Shirley Handy, of Brighton, Colo.; Emma Grothe of Cortez, Colo.; daughterin-law, Nita Williams of Atoka; her sons, Robert Biddle and wife, Carol of Farmington, Mass.; Albert Biddle of Greenfield, Mass.; Frank Williams and wife, Pam of Clarita, Okla.; John Williams and wife, Linda of Grove; Steven Williams of Grove; 35 grandchild­ren; 73 great-grandchild­ren; 25 great-great-grandchild­ren; and a host of other relatives and friends who will dearly miss her.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Grove. Bishop Stephen Kohler officiated. Burial followed the service in the Olympus Cemetery in Grove.

Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, in the Southwest City Chapel of the Ozark funeral homes. The family received friends at this time.
