“Jaime threw another good game and finally has something to show for it,” Martin said. “Jordan Platter had a great day at the plate and we executed very well. We took advantage of our speed on the bases today (nine stolen bases).”

McDonald County scored a run in the first and third innings and then broke the game open with five runs in the fourth before ending the game on the run-rule with two runs in the fifth.

Hanke drove in a run in the first with a single and added a two-run hit in the fourth and a sacrifice fly in the fifth. Stoutsenberger drove in runs in the third and fourth with singles while Platter set the table with three singles. Dowd and Baisch had the other two Mustang hits.

McDonald County scored its only runs on Roessler’s two-run homer in the fourth. Platter had two hits and Baisch one for the only other Mustang safeties.
