Recycling Day In Pineville

Pineville will host a metal/ tire clean up from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 22, at the Pineville Square.

Pineville residents are encouraged to bring in their old tires to the cleanup event. Mayor Gregg Sweeten said old tires can collect rainwater, which can then attract mosquitoes. The cleanup effort can help alleviate that potential problem.

Officials ask that wheels and rims be removed and that residents just bring in their old tires. Each resident can bring up to 10 old tires.

The clean-up effort includes collecting metal. A bin will be located at the square for that purpose, Sweeten said.

The event is open to Pineville residents only. Residents will be asked to provide proof of residency, Sweeten said.

If Saturday’s weather doesn’t cooperate due to rain, the event will be rescheduled. Residents may keep informed by visiting the city’s Facebook page, he added.
