Freshmen Take Doubleheader

The McDonald County freshman baseball team swept a doubleheader at Cassville on April 10.

McDonald County claimed a 5-1 win in the opener behind the pitching of Cade Smith. Colliar Gottfried, Kammeron Hopkins, Sampson Boles and Koby McAlister had one hit each to lead the offense.

In the nightcap, McDonald County routed the Wildcats 19-1. Estaban Ruiz got the win, allowing one run in four innings.

Blaine Bishop, Omar Manuel, Jacob Pagel, Hopkins and Boles all had one hit to lead the McDonald County offense.

McDonald County improves to 5-4-1 entering its April 17 game at Seneca. The Mustangs are at Webb City on April 20 and at Lamar on April 21.
