Long Arrested On Child Pornography Charges

A 21-year-old Anderson man was arrested on two counts of possessing child pornography last week after the McDonald County Sheriff’s Office and the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crime Task Force executed a search warrant at 84 Cook Hill Road near Anderson.

As a result of a tip the departments received, an investigation was opened. William A. Long was arrested on April 6.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed in McDonald County Circuit Court, Long freely admitted to possessing both images and videos on his cell phone.

Deputies searched Long’s phone and located more than 20 still images and one video file depicting children as young as five years old engaging in sexual activity.

Long was transported to the McDonald County Jail, where he is being held in lieu of bond.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, May 3.
