April 2, 1952 May 17, 2017 Bobby Lee Kerr, 65, a loving brother, son and uncle, died on May 17, 2017. He was born on April 2, 1952, in Stella, Mo. to Ovan and Grace (Pogue) Kerr.

He graduated from Rocky Comfort High School in 1971. Later that year, following in his father’s footsteps, he began working for the McDonald County School District as a custodian at Rocky Comfort School. In the early 1980’s, he tried his hand at farming, raising pigs and cattle. He retired in 2005 from the school district. He enjoyed riding his bike around town and feeding treats to the neighborho­od dogs.

His quiet presence always brought joy at family gatherings. He was adored by his nieces and nephews, and the love he had for his family was ever-present in his home in Rocky Comfort.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Kerr; two sisters, Ovena Green and JoAnn Talley; a nephew, Curtis Hooper; and a sister-in-law, Dee Bowman.

He is survived by two brothers, Jim Bowman of Carthage, Mo., and Duane Kerr and his wife, Shirley of Stella; two sisters, Wanna Lou Orth and her husband, Keith of Raymore, Mo. and Linda Poe and her husband Jack of Noel, Mo; 17 nieces and nephews; and a growing number of great-nieces and -nephews.

He will always hold a place in our hearts.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton, Mo. Pastor Frank Smith conducted the services. Burial was in Rocky Comfort Cemetery at Rocky Comfort.

The family received friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton.
