March 23, 1956 June 13, 2017 Gordon Dale Jeffries, 61, of Neosho, Mo., was called to Heaven on Tuesday June 13, 2017, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Mo. He was born on March 23, 1956, in Joplin to Leo Gordon and Rose Elma (Lane) Jeffries.

He served in the United States Army. He married the love of his life, Sandra Lynn Poteet on Nov. 12, 1974, at the Splitlog Baptist Church in Goodman, Mo. He worked for the City of Neosho, Taylor Homes in Anderson, Mo., and was a spray-painter for Furniture West in Neosho. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and muscle cars. He could fix or build anything; he built furniture for his family and proudly built their home in Neosho. His most cherished moments were spending time with his family, especially his grandchild­ren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leo Gordon Jeffries; brother, Steve Jeffries; and half-sister, Lynn McGuire.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Jeffries of the home; his mother, Rose Boyer of Goodman, Mo; two daughters, Stacie Lynn Cornelison and husband, Vince of Billings, Mo., Christine Hartman and husband, Travis of Ozark, Mo.; two sisters, Carol Ann Carnahan of Goodman, Janice Faye Paiva of Neosho; grandchild­ren, Nicole Jeffries, Brandon Nowlin, Austin Cornelison, Allyssa Cornelison, Ella Cornelison, McCayla Hartman and Skiler Cornelison; a great-granddaugh­ter, Bayee Edwards; several cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends who will dearly miss him.

Graveside funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2017, at the Howard Cemetery in Goodman. The Reverend Larry Six officiated. Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2017, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark funeral homes. The family received friends at this time.

Memorial contributi­ons may be given in loving memory to be used according to the family’s wishes, in care of the funeral home.
