There Will Be Fun For All Ages At Jesse James Days In Pineville
Planning is underway for Pineville’s annual Jesse James Days.
Jesse James Days will take place Aug. 9-12, with a pageant for youngsters, entertainment, food, a 5k and 10k run/walk and 13-mile bike ride — and chances to win a car.
Redwolf will provide entertainment on Thursday, Aug. 10.
Running With The Outlaws, the name of the 5K or 10K run/walk and 13-mile bike race, will take place Aug. 12. Pineville Fire Department will help cool down the course with water cannons. Officials said, however, that the water cannons will not be directed at participants.
Cost to register for the 5k is $20; 10k, $30; bike ride, $35. After July 1, cost for each event increases by $5.
All proceeds of this event will benefit the Pineville Rural Fire Department and McDonald County 4 Kids.
Participants must register no later than July 31 to be guaranteed a T-shirt.
Other activities include a car giveaway on Aug. 12. Officials will give away a 2004 Ford Mustang 40th Anniversary Edition. All taxes are prepaid so the winner isn’t required to pay them. Chances are $1 each or six for $5.
Tickets are available at City Hall and from any Pineville firefighter. All proceeds will benefit the Pineville Rural Fire Department.
The car will be given away at 9 p.m. Aug. 12.
Officials are working on lining up vendors for Jesse James Days. Vendor applications are now being accepted.
Applications also are available for pageant contestants.
Pageant age groups are as follows:
Girls: 0-2, 3-5, 6-9, 10-14 Boys: 0-2, 3-5, 6-9 Age groups may vary, depending on sign-ups. All applications are available at Pineville City Hall.
