Mary “Coleen” Hughes, 77, of Livingston, Texas, departed this life on Monday, Aug. 14, 2017, at Freeman West Hospital in

Joplin, Mo., after a brief illness. She was born on Sept. 12, 1939, in Martinez, Calif., to

John Thomas and Mabel Coleen (Dopp) Henson.

She was raised in the Jane area and graduated from White Rock High School. She was a school teacher for many years. She was united in marriage on May 16, 1998, in McNatt, Mo., to Sidney Hughes. She enjoyed traveling in her RV and riding her motorcycle with her husband. She was known for her love of life and lived it to the fullest.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Bobby Ray Michael in 1992; her parents; and a sister, Carla Jean.

She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Sidney Hughes of the home; a brother, John Anderson Henson of Branson, Mo.; a sister; Nancy Kirk of Powell, Mo.; her dog, Maggie Mae; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

A celebratio­n of her life was held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017, at the Ozark Funeral Home, 100 Spring Street in Anderson.
