Mary “Coleen” Hughes, 77, of Liv­ingston, Texas, de­parted this life on Mon­day, Aug. 14, 2017, at Free­man West Hos­pi­tal in

Jo­plin, Mo., af­ter a brief ill­ness. She was born on Sept. 12, 1939, in Martinez, Calif., to

John Thomas and Ma­bel Coleen (Dopp) Hen­son.

She was raised in the Jane area and grad­u­ated from White Rock High School. She was a school teacher for many years. She was united in mar­riage on May 16, 1998, in McNatt, Mo., to Sid­ney Hughes. She en­joyed trav­el­ing in her RV and rid­ing her mo­tor­cy­cle with her hus­band. She was known for her love of life and lived it to the fullest.

She was pre­ceded in death by her first hus­band Bobby Ray Michael in 1992; her par­ents; and a sis­ter, Carla Jean.

She is sur­vived by her hus­band of 19 years, Sid­ney Hughes of the home; a brother, John An­der­son Hen­son of Bran­son, Mo.; a sis­ter; Nancy Kirk of Pow­ell, Mo.; her dog, Mag­gie Mae; sev­eral nieces and neph­ews; and a host of other fam­ily and friends.

A cel­e­bra­tion of her life was held from 10 a.m. to noon Satur­day, Aug. 19, 2017, at the Ozark Fu­neral Home, 100 Spring Street in An­der­son.
