Mus­tangs Soc­cer Squad On Two-Match Win Streak

The McDon­ald County High School soc­cer team won its sec­ond match in a row when the Mus­tangs handed River­ton, Kan., a 7-1 loss on Aug. 29 at River­ton High School.

McDon­ald County took a 3-0 lead at in­ter­mis­sion on goals by Eh Doh Say, Jaw K. Shoe and Brian Lopez.

Say got the scor­ing started when he found an open net af­ter an as­sist from Shoe.

Shoe made the score 2-0 a short time later on an as­sist from Karlo Barreda.

Just be­fore the half, Lopez knocked in a shot af­ter an as­sist from Say.

McDon­ald County stretched its lead to 5-0 early in the sec­ond half on goals by Jeobany Mar­cos and Mu Dar be­fore River­ton scored its only goal of the game to cut the lead to 5-1.

Say recorded his sec­ond as­sist of the match on the goal by Mar­cos while Ar­turo Mo­rales as­sisted on Dar’s goal that came from about 30 yards out.

Say’s sec­ond goal of the game was unas­sisted and came from about five yards far­ther out than Dar’s blast.

McDon­ald County’s fi­nal goal of the match was scored by Melvin Ordonez on an as­sist from Mar­cos.

McDon­ald County fell to 2-3 for the sea­son when the Mus­tangs dropped a 3-0 de­ci­sion on Aug. 31 at Carl Junc­tion.

McDon­ald County is sched­uled to host Monett in its home opener on Sept. 7 at the Loyce Shell­nut Soc­cer Field lo­cated be­hind the dis­trict’s ad­min­is­tra­tion of­fices in Anderson. Game time is 5 p.m.
