Volleyball Mustangs Drop Trio Of Matches

The McDonald County Lady Mustangs volleyball team remained winless on the year after dropping matches last week to Cassville, College Heights and Webb City.

McDonald County opened the week with a 25-14, 25-9 loss at Cassville on Aug. 29.

Kailana Pa had two kills and Hollie Garvin had seven digs, two service points and one kill to lead the Lady Mustangs. Kayce Factor added six digs while Madison Hall had three digs and two assists and Katelyn Ferdig had two service points and two digs.

College Heights

The Lady Mustangs dropped a 25-14, 25-10 to College Heights Christian Academy in Joplin on Aug. 29.

Pa, Hall, Mattie Leach, Karla Barreda and Ember Killion had one kill each for McDonald County. Hall added four assists, one dig and one service point. Factor had three service points and Leach had two.

Webb City

The Lady Cardinals cruised to a 25-11, 25-9 win over McDonald County on Aug. 31 at Webb City.

Leach and Barreda had two kills each to lead the Lady Mustangs while Hall had three service points and two digs. Leach added four digs, two digs and one service point while Factor had six digs and Raye Pearcy had four. Emily Landers chipped in with three digs, two service points and one kill and Garvin had two service points and a dig.

McDonald County drops to 0-8 heading into its Sept. 7 match at Carl Junction. The Lady Mustangs return home on Sept. 11 to face Neosho. The junior varsity match starts at 6 p.m. followed by the varsity contest.
