Lady Mustangs Drop 3 Matches
Tied 10-10 in the first game of the match with the McDonald County Lady Mustangs, Neosho went on a 40-16 run to hand McDonald County a 25-10, 25-16 loss on Sept. 11 at MCHS.
The teams traded points for the most part early in the match before McDonald County scored three consecutive points to tie the game at 9-9. The teams then split the next two points before Neosho closed out the first game by scoring the final 15 points for a 25-10 win.
In the second game, Neosho led 10-8 before going on a five point run to stretch its margin to 15-8. The Lady Wildcats led 21-12, but McDonald County closed to 21-16 before the Neosho scored the final four points of the game to end the match.
Nikki Salas had four kills while Hollie Garvin added three service points and six digs to lead McDonald County. Mattie Leach chipped in with two service points and three assists and Raye Pearcy had two service points and five digs.
Neosho added an 18-25, 25-15, 25-11 win in the junior varsity match.
McDonald County falls to 0-11 heading into its Sept. 12 against Joplin. The Lady Mustangs then travel to Joplin McAuley on Sept. 18.
McDonald County fell to Pea Ridge 24-26, 19-25 on Sept. 5 at Pea Ridge High School.
Karla Barreda had three kills while Katelyn Ferdig, Salas and Leach had two each to lead the Lady Mustangs attack. Madison Hall had nine assists, six digs, five service points and one kills and Leach and Raye Pearcy added four service points.
The Lady Bulldogs claimed a 25-17, 25-6 win on Sept. 7 at Carl Junction High School.
Emily Landers had three kills and Leach two to lead the attack while Hall had four digs and five assists. Adyson Sanny added three digs while Kayce Factor, Hall, Leach and Landers had two service points each.
