Is Your Name Written In The Book Of Life?

- Cove Mission Of Hope Joyce Walters

Well our dear sister, Luene Gardner, had a birthday today and we were so glad to celebrate with her. Many more blessed birthdays is our prayer for her.

Pastor Bob compared our insurance on our material belongings to the insurance given by our Lord. I have never thought of comparing these two types of insurance — but it makes a lot of sense when you look at it from the way that Pastor revealed it. One of the most talked about is fire insurance, if your house burns you will be so glad you paid those premiums year after year.

By the same token we search the word of God and find how to obtain insurance against the fire that waits for those who turn from the Lord. Be sure your premium is up to date; if not, you may be caught with the last verse in Revelation chapter 20. This is a very serious requirement to gain eternal life. It says that, whosoever does not have his name written in the book of life will be cast into the lake of fire which as we have heard burns forever and ever. That is surely enough to start you to thinking about where your life is headed.

In the third chapter of John, he tells us we must follow his instructions as payment on our heavenly insurance. In Hebrews chapter 10 we are told that we must not forsake the assembling of our selves together. So many think that they can worship from afar, but according to the word, this is not so. There is a good example of not having the proper insurance in Luke chapter 16 starting with verse 19. This is a familiar story about the rich man who died and was in the lake of fire. Then there was Lazarus who had the right insurance and he was in the bosom of Abraham. The rich man had mistreated Lazarus during his life on earth but found himself begging for the poor man to dip his finger in cool water and touch the tip of his tongue. You see, there is always a payday for those who do not abide by the word. I’m sure he was not concerned that his name was not written in the lamb’s book of life.

Who is your eternal insurance agent? I suggest, you choose Jesus Christ, for he will never let you down when you feel the need to avoid the fire. He will never leave you nor forsake you, He is with you always. Where you go with Jesus you will find streets of gold and cool, clear water. Who would want to miss such a place? Just as he was with the three Hebrew children in the fiery furnace so will he be there for you. It is so awesome that when they came out of the furnace alive and Jesus with them, there was not even a smell of smoke on them. When Jesus does his work, it will always be perfect and in the will of God.

So in closing Pastor again asked, if we had our insurance up to date and were we sure of our names being written in the book of life. I pray that we have caused you to think about this very serious question.

God bless you and keep reading the best book ever written. It will set you on the right path.
