Oct. 22, 1931 Oct. 2, 2017 Norma Geane Gideon, 85, of Granby, Mo., formerly of Anderson, Mo., died Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, at Granby House Care Center after months of declining health. She entered this life on Oct. 22, 1931, on a farm in Otoe, Neb., to Augustus and Amanda Anderson Meyer.

She moved with her family to Noel, Mo., as a child. On April 12, 1947, she was united in marriage to James Andrew Gideon and to this union four children were born.

In 1960, they moved to the Bunker Hill Community in McDonald County where they owned and operated Bunker Hill Grocery for several years. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, cooking and aggravatin­g her sons-inlaw.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Gideon; a daughter, Sharon Gideon; a grandson, James McCully; two brothers, Ed and Donald Meyer; and two sisters, Laverne Kennison and Betty Womack.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen McCully and husband, Frank, of Granby; Florence Belt and husband, John, of Fairview, Mo.; one son, Larry Gideon and wife, Diana, of Baxter Springs, Kan.; six grandchild­ren; nine great-grandchild­ren; two great-great-grandchild­ren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, at noon in the funeral home chapel.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Brother Buddy Funk officiatin­g. Burial will follow in the Tracy Cemetery. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearer­s are Frankie McCully, Nichols Sutherland, Jealousy Sutherland, Amanda York, Ken York and Aaron McCully.

Arrangemen­ts are under the personal care and direction of the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson.
