Club Looks Forward To 93rd Anniversary

-

The Noel Woman’s Club’s September meeting was called to order by President Dot. Ten members answered roll call after the Pledge of Allegiance and Lord’s Prayer. Minutes were read and approved as well as the treasurer’s report. Money was turned in for the sale of raffle tickets and crafts at Jesse James Days. Thank you to all those who stopped by our booth.

The club made a donation to the Noel Public Library. Club members are happy to be able to help out our local library.

Members discussed having a bake sale in October. This October the club will be 93 years old. That is 93 years of continuous service to Noel. Club members think that is quite an accomplishment. To celebrate the club will be offering a sale. The latest cookbook, “Christmas City Classics,” which have been selling for $10 each, will be on sale during October only for half price — $5. It is not too early to start Christmas shopping and what a great gift that would be. Club members plan to have a bake sale in front of Harps beginning at 9 a.m. Oct. 21. Members will offer the cookbooks for sale there or you may see any Woman’s Club member or call Dot at 417-475-5043 or Melissa at 417-475-3599. Don’t let this opportunity slip by, remember, it is only for October, the club’s anniversary month.

The birthday girl this month was Louine. Happy birthday.

Hostess was Dot, and Bonnie provided the program of a craft. Thank you to both of them.

The next meeting will be Oct. 10 and will be the tacky party (the club’s version of Halloween). Join the club and become part of a group that wants to help out the community. Wear something tacky … for the party, of course. For more information you may contact Dot at 417-475-5043 or Melissa at 417-475-3599.
