ESA Celebrates Fall, Looks To Christmas Holiday
Lambda Chi Chapter of ESA met the evening of Oct. 4 in the home of Shirley Alps. Shirley and co-hostess Debbie Alumbaugh had a baked-potato bar served up with lavish Halloween decorations in Shirley’s home. Ten members and one guest, Lynn Tatum’s granddaughter Shelby, were present. Fall activities were discussed.
Recently, the chapter catered the 90th birthday party for Nancy Call’s mother, Mona Joy, which was attended by more than 100 people. Alice Snodgrass reported that the McDonald County High School Art Department would again paint four pumpkins for the chapter to deliver to the McDonald County Living Center.
Members also will support the living center by the donation of blankets to be distributed at Christmas. Each member is to bring two blankets to the November meeting, also a potluck dinner.
Fall is flying by quickly and ESA sisters are already looking ahead to Christmas. Sunday, Dec. 3, is the date for the Holiday Home Tour. Tickets will remain $8 apiece, with the proceeds going to support scholarships for young women in the 2018 Class of McDonald County High School. There will be four homes to tour this year, all in Anderson, and the tea for all ticket holders will be held at the Anderson United Methodist Church. Tickets will be available from ESA members and at the door of each site that day. The four homes will be announced soon.
The chapter will hold its own Christmas dinner meal Wednesday, Dec. 6, at Haven, with Margie Edmonds as hostess.
