Sept. 18, 1940 Jan. 12, 2018 Ronald John “Ron” Whittle, 77, of Anderson, Mo., died Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, after months of declining health.

He was born on Sept. 18, 1940, in Halstead, Kan., to Roland Ralph and Iva Mae (Owens) Whittle. He resided several years in California and Oklahoma before moving to Anderson. He worked in the field of maintenanc­e and, before retiring from the McDonald County Road District, he worked 18 years at Tyson Foods in Neosho. He enjoyed raising cattle and playing Wahoo and was a member of the Tiff City Community Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Marjorie Carol Wheeler.

Survivors include his wife, Linda of the home; four children, Wayne Whittle of Neosho, Mo., Tim Whittle (Tammie) of Neosho, Robert Whittle (Susie) of Bellflower, Calif., and Kasey Whittle Jackson of Springfiel­d; three stepchildr­en, David Fewell of Stigler, Okla., Debbie Almstead of Bentonvill­e, Ark., and Keith Jones of Council Bluffs, Iowa; two brothers, his twin Donnie Whittle of Vera, Okla., and David Whittle of Burton, Kan.; two sisters, Sue Ann Sicari of Palm Desert, Calif., and Robin Leahr of Garden City, Kan.; and six grandchild­ren.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastor Donnie Tucker officiatin­g. Burial followed in the Peace Valley Cemetery in Anderson. Arrangemen­ts were by Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson.
