Noel Woman’s Club Holds First Meeting Of 2018

-

The January meeting of the Noel Woman’s Club was called to order by new president Melissa. After the Pledge of Allegiance and the Lord’s Prayer were recited, 15 members answered roll call by secretary Debbie. Secretary Debbie then gave an overview of the past year’s meetings and activities.

The treasurer’s report was given by Bonnie. Dues were collected for the new year. Money was turned in from the sale of the cookbooks.

Thank-you notes were received and read. Club binder sheets for 2018 were distributed to members.

A report was given on the children helped at Christmas. The club was happy to have been able to provide gifts for the children.

Donations were made to the area senior centers and to the Methodist Church for allowing the club to hold meetings at their locations.

The club voted to bake homemade cookies again for Meals on Wheels for Valentine’s Day. This is a service project the club has been doing for several years, and the club enjoys adding something special to the meals’ program.

The members thanked out-going president Dot for her years as president and for being such an enthusiastic supporter. The club has grown in the years she has been in the office. Melissa has accepted the presidency for the coming year and is off to a great start.

Ideas for fundraisers for the upcoming year were discussed.

Birthdays this month included Mary and Kayla.

Dot was the hostess and served delicious refreshments.

The next meeting will be Tuesday, Feb. 13. All are invited to join the club for a meeting and to help as the club tries to make the community a better place to live. For more information, call Melissa at 479-475-3599.
