Virginia Lee Bickford Shelton, 71, of Goodman,
Mo., died March 26, 2018, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Mo., after suffering an apparent heart attack.
She was born May 19, 1946, in Rocky Comfort, Mo., to George Wesley and Ruth Elizabeth (Jones) Myers. She was a lifelong resident of McDonald County Missouri. On Feb. 14, 1964, she married James H. Bickford Sr. She worked for Big Smith, Tyson Foods and La-ZBoy. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and woodworking projects.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James; and four siblings, Junior Myers, Raymond Myers, Alta Rose Robertson and Barbara Bickford.
Survivors include her second husband, Ron Shelton of Diamond, Mo.; four sons, Tony Bickford (Marilyn) of Diamond, Gregory Bickford of Goodman, Melvin Bickford (Ronda) of Goodman and James H. Bickford Jr. (Patricia) of Neosho, Mo.; four grandchildren; two sisters, Rhonda Bickford (Pete) of Goodman and Georgia McCumber of Joplin; and a brother, Pete Myers (Tina) of Marshfield, Mo.
Funeral services were held graveside on Friday, March 30, 2018, at the Howard Cemetery in Goodman with Pastor Mark Bickford officiating.
