Vicki Jo Babbitt, 75, of Pineville, Mo., died April 9, 2018, in the comfort of her home after months of declining health.
She was born Dec. 27, 1942, in St. Louis, Mo., to Victor Lee and Billi Jo (Houser) Rhine. She was raised in Pineville and was a 1960 graduate of Anderson High School. She taught school in Kansas City. She married Ross Babbit on Dec. 25, 1975, and eventually, they moved back to Pineville to assume roles in the family business, McDonald County Telephone. She was a member of Pineville Christian Church and enjoyed traveling, fishing, deer hunting and scuba diving.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Ross Babbitt of the home; two children, Aaron Gent (Liz) and Ruth Roessler (Chris), all of Pineville; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2018, at the Pineville Christian Church with Pastor Gary Graham officiating. Burial will follow in the Pineville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are being directed to the Vicki Jo Babbitt Charitable Contribution Fund c/o the funeral home.
