MCHS Golfers Fal­ter In Jo­plin

Carthage’s Rob­bie Sager won a three-man playoff to take in­di­vid­ual honors at the Hor­ton Smith Golf Tour­na­ment held on April 9 at Shif­fer­decker Golf Course in Jo­plin, Mo.

Sager was tied with Levi French of Webb City and Bron­son Smith of Ne­vada with a seven-over-par 78 be­fore win­ning the playoff.

Tim Shields led McDon­ald County with a 99, which tied for 37th place. Lily All­man was next for the Mus­tangs with a 102 to fin­ish in 42nd place. Round­ing out the McDon­ald County re­sults were Walker Keith, 105, 46th; Sam White­hill, 109, 51st; and Pay­ton McKee, 115, 57th;

Carthage won the team ti­tle by three strokes over Webb City with a to­tal of 335.

McDon­ald County fin­ished in 11th place out of the 13 teams com­pet­ing.

McDon­ald County was at the Cassville In­vi­ta­tional on April 10 be­fore host­ing Neosho on April 17 at Elk River Golf Course in Noel.
