Southwest City’s Old Timers Day
SWC Old Timers Day will include a myriad of activities such as a fireman’s pancake breakfast, performers, bingo, cash drawings, dance, pie-eating contest, bareback bronc, bull, saddle riding, calf roping and steer wrestling and more. Activities begin at 7 a.m. and last through the evening Saturday, May 5. All are welcome to attend and enjoy the festivities.
Reserve a craft or vendor-booth space now for Southwest City’s Old Timers Day. Booth space is free. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is located on Main Street (next to the SWC Library) in Southwest City. Contact Jodi Huston at 417-436-2368 to reserve booth space.
Southwest City Commercial Club will host the annual Old Timers Day parade at 12:30 p.m. The parade is sponsored by the SWC Commercial Club and area businesses. Businesses, churches, youth groups, civic clubs, school groups and riding clubs are invited to participate. The parade will include floats, marching units, autos and many other categories. Plaques will be awarded to first-place winners in each division. Upon arrival to the parade, check in with Misty Reece by the American Legion building to pick up a line-up number. Everyone should be in their line-up position by noon. The parade begins promptly at 12:30 p.m. Contact parade chairman Misty Reece at 417-762-3497 for additional information or entry forms.
