Mustangs Gain Golf Win Over Neosho

Lily Allman and Sam Whitehill led the McDonald County High golf team to a 197-210 win over Neosho on April 17 at Elk River Golf Course in Noel.

Allman, one of two freshman girls on the team, shot a 47 to lead the Mustangs while Whitehill was one stroke back with a 48. Girls must play form the same tees as the boys during the spring season.

Rounding out the varsity scores for McDonald County were Walker Keith with a 50, Tim Shields with a 52, Peyton McKee with a 55 and Blake Harrell with a 64.

Junior varsity scores for McDonald county were Matthew and Luke Dudley with 61s and Anna Mead with a 65. Neosho did not have a junior varsity team.

McDonald County’s was at the Big 8 Conference Championsh­ips on April 24 in Mount Vernon.

Golf districts are set for April 30 at Briarbrook Country Club in Carl Junction.
