Junior High Teams Sweep Doublehead­ers

The McDonald County junior high baseball teams swept doublehead­ers at Marionvill­e and Grove last week.

At Marionvill­e on April 17, Wyatt Habert pitched three and two-thirds innings to lead the eighth grade to a 6-2 win. Levi Malone worked the final inning and a third to clinch the win.

Offensivel­y, McDonald County was led by Levi Helm with two hits and two RBIs. Malone, Dylan Igisomar, Cole Martin, Matthew Mora, Junior Eliam, Brandon Armstrong and Lee Sohse added one hit each.

Sohse went four and a third innings for the win, and Bo Leach got the save by getting the final two outs in the eighth grade’s 7-6 win over Grove on April 19 in Grove, Okla.

Malone and Armstrong led the offense with two hits each while Igisomar, Leach, Eliam, Sohse and Matthew Mora all had one.

Seventh Grade

Fischer Sanny pitched three innings for the win, with two innings of relief help from Jacob Gordon, in the seventh grade’s 11-5 win at Marionvill­e.

The offense was led by Sammy Heruth with three hits, two runs and an RBI. Braxton Spears, Weston Gordon, Isaac Behm, Jackson Parnell, Jacob Gordon and Sanny had two hits each, while Blaine Ortiz and Keagan Gibson both had one.

Weston Gordon went four innings to lead McDonald County to an 8-2 win over Grove. Heruth had two hits, while Spears, Weston Gordon, Jacob Gordon and Coty Dumond had one hit each.

McDonald County was at Rogers Providence on April 24 before returning home to host Neosho on April 27. Game time is 4:30 p.m.
