James C. Headley Sr.
Sept. 18, 1941 May 4, 2018 James “Jim” C. Headley Sr., 76, of Goodman, Mo., died Friday, May 4, 2018, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 18, 1941, in Bartlesville,
Okla., to Rex and Marian (Barnett) Headley. He joined the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1960. He worked many jobs before moving his family to Noel in 1975, where he went to work for Hudson Foods, then Tyson Foods for more than 25 years. He enjoyed cooking, reading and collecting cookbooks, woodworking and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Jane Street and Kay Story; and two grandchildren.
Survivors include his children, Sheri White (Kenneth) of Noel, Mo., James Headley Jr. (Mary) of Anderson, Mo., Shelli Pendergraft (Robert) of Goodman, Joe Headley (Billie) of Neosho, Mo., Jennifer Linton (Brian) of Goodman; and 17 grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2018, at the Butler Creek Cemetery in Sulphur Springs, Ark., with the Rev. Bob Holloway officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home.
