Outstanding Youth Winners

Lambda Chi Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority announced the Outstanding Youth candidates and a winner from each of the six McDonald County schools with eighthgrade classes.

Lambda Chi Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority announced the Outstanding Youth candidates and a winner from each of the six McDonald County schools with eighth-grade classes.

Three eighth-graders are nominated from each school by school personnel. Parents or guardians must give their written permission for each candidate to participate. Required forms must be filled out by both students and parents and three letters of recommendation acquired, only one can be from school personnel.

The candidates are interviewed at a specified date by a panel of three members from the sorority and are required to write a short essay on the spot. The topic of the essay is not known in advance. A fourth member, other than one of the interview panel, presented a plaque to the winner as part of the Eighth-Grade Promotion Program at each school the evening of May 22.

Lambda Chi extends a special thanks to the school’s staff, the nominee’s parents, and the students for sharing their time and thoughts to be a part of this program.
