Noel First Friday To Showcase Barkin’ Pig BBQ

- Sally Carroll

It was divine inspiration. Tony and Amy Franklin’s pastor listened, then drew out a design. The couple loved the new logo for their business, created by Dennis Bergen.

Now, that logo helps the couple brand their delicious barbeque, which will be available at the Noel First Friday event on July 6.

Tony admits Barkin’ Pig BBQ has somewhat of a following.

“We sold out at the (Anderson) Berry Festival in about four hours, and we were nonstop the entire time,” Tony says.

“We prepare a lot of food; it’s not that we’re underprepared,” he said.

Barkin’ Pig BBQ will be at Celebrate Neosho on June 30. The Franklins sold out there last year, as well as the Neosho Bluegrass Festival and every Food Truck Friday event they attended in Carthage.

“We’ve been blessed for sure,” Tony said. “We really enjoy going to events together and selling good barbecue.”

The Franklins will bring their barbecue to the Noel First Friday on July 6. The Noel Betterment Association will continue to build on its First Friday success when it hosts its second event on Main Street in downtown Noel.

The event will feature food, vendors, a free water slide for children, and live music by the B Side Boys Band.

The community is welcome to come out from 6 to 9 p.m. that night and have a good time while visiting with neighbors.

Vendors will have the opportunity to set up for free.
