Edwin Larry Fairchild
Sept. 7, 1932 Sept. 1, 2018 Edwin Larry Fairchild, 85, of Jane, Mo., died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Ark.
He was born Sept. 7, 1932, in
Lottie, La., to
Ed L. and Mabel (Chiasson) Fairchild. Raised in Baker, La., he graduated in 1952 from Baker High School and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. On Oct. 15, 1954, he married Sylvia Haire. They moved to Jane in 1969 and purchased a farm. He enjoyed working with wood, rebuilding old cars and fishing. He also built several homes in the Jane area.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Sherry Cooper; and a sister, Beverly Hock.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Sylvia Fairchild of the home; a son, Ed Fairchild (Lillian) of Jane; a daughter, Kelly Fairchild of Joplin, Mo.; four grandchildren; and a sister, Barbara Talik (Ralph) of Jane.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Jane, with Brother Hank Gorman officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Jane Cemetery.
Memorials are being directed to the Jane Cemetery Care Fund in care of the funeral home.
