McDonald County Junior High Cross Country Invitational Results
Eighth-grader Kyle Killion finished 10th in the eighthgrade boys’ race, to top the McDonald County junior high cross country results at the McDonald County Junior High Cross Country Invitational held Sept. 13 at Elk River Country Club in Noel.
Killion’s effort helped the Mustangs to a fifth-place finish out of the nine teams fielding a full team. There were 120 boys in the race. Killion finished the 2500 meter course in 8:59. Hobbs Campbell of Joplin won the race in 8:17.
Rounding out the McDonald County results were Levi Smith, 14th, 9:15; Isaac Behm, 21st, 9:28; Remington Ziemianin, 26th, 9:40; Hunter Leach, 59th, 10:38; Cross Spencer, 80th, 11:19; Cody Dumond, 81st, 11:23; Josh Boles, 106th, 13:03; Lucas Friend, 107th, 13:03; and Mark Wilson, 110th, 13:09.
Eighth-Grade Girls
McDonald County was led by Melissa McCrory, who took 40th in a time of 12:00. Hayden Weber of Bentonville Washington won the race in 9:43.
McDonald County had only four entrants in the race, so it did not factor in the team competition. Rounding out the McDonald County results were Anna
Belle Price, 45th, 12:13; Haley Walczak, 73rd, 14:17; and Brittany Akins, 86th, 16:07.
Seventh-Grade Boys
Lane Pratt’s 25th place was McDonald County’s top time in the seventh-grade boys’ race. Eismael Hernandez of Pittsburg won the race in 8:25.
The team finished in 10th place out of 11 teams. Rounding out the Mustang results were Tucker Walters, 65th, 11:23; Carson Brock, 69th, 11:27; Caleb Garvin, 71st, 11:38; and Dylan Fertig, 100th, 12:53.
Seventh-Grade Girls
McDonald County’s best time in the seventh-grade girls’ race was a 13:05 by Haneline Makenzie, which was good for 45th place.
McDonald County finished fifth out the five teams. Other McDonald County results were Jaslyn Billups-Wright, 64th, 15:13; Kaidence Willis, 71st, 18:07; Caitlyn Townsend, 73rd, 19:52; and Brooklyn Halford, 74th, 19:96.
McDonald County’s next meet is at East Newton High School on Sept. 22. Races begin at 8:30 a.m.
