Noel Women’s Club Meeting

-

The Noel Women’s Club meeting was held on April 9, at the Methodist Church in Noel, Mo. It was a very informative meeting for everyone as we welcomed two guests, Kimberly Ramsay with Edward Jones and Debbie Parnell with I’m Your Huckleberry Animal Rescue.

First, we heard from Kimberly Ramsay, AAMS, CFP, of Edward Jones investment firm. She came with great information regarding women’s retirement. There are so many aspects of retirement that women need to consider as they are making the decision about their financial future and when they want to take that next step. Kimberly’s office is located in Anderson, and she is ready to help you any way that she can, including questions about investments and financial planning.

Next, we heard from Debbie Parnell, a representative of I’m Your Huckleberry Rescue, a dog and cat rescue that services McDonald and Newton County. It seems that McDonald County has the largest amount of strays that are being rescued and they are in dire need of volunteers and foster homes. I’m Your Huckleberry Rescue can be contacted by calling Beverly Bartley at 417-456-9195 for further information.

Every year the Noel Women’s Club awards two scholarships to young ladies who are high school seniors at the McDonald County High School. Each candidate that has completed the required form was reviewed by each member of the NWC. We would like to congratulate Hailie Lance and Bailey Barrett. Each recipient will receive a $100 scholarship at the high school’s award ceremony on May 14.

The club is having a bake sale from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 27, in front of the Noel Harps grocery store. There will also be a quilt raffle during the bake sale.

If you have an interest in joining this group of ladies and making new friendships, our next meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, at the Noel Methodist Church.
