Noel Woman’s Club News
The Oct. 8 meeting of the Noel Woman’s Club was called to order by President Melissa Lance. The pledge of allegiance and Lord’s Prayer were recited. Role call was taken by Secretary Debbie Powell, with 13 members present. Minutes were read and approved.
The treasurer’s report was given by treasurer Bonnie Leonard.
The club was informed that blankets are being collected by Area on Aging to be given to those in need of a warm blanket. They may be dropped off at the Noel Senior Center.
The upcoming bake sale was discussed and was held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 12, in front of the new Harps in Noel. We appreciate the community coming out to purchase our baked goods. As always, the money raised is used for the needs in our own community.
The club made a donation to “Shop with a Hero” for the Christmas season. This will allow many children from families unable to buy Christmas for them to have a nice Christmas.
There was a discussion regarding the upcoming Noel Christmas Parade. The Woman’s Club would like to have a float in the parade this year. More plans will be discussed next month when a date has been set for the parade.
The club held its annual “Tacky Party,” its version of a Halloween party, where members dressed up and a contest was held for the best costume. Vicki Barth won this year.
Hostesses this month were Linda Jefferson and Jo Pearcy, who had decorated the room in a wonderfully scary Halloween theme. The food was also in the Halloween theme and delicious!

The next meeting will be Tuesday, Nov. 12, and will include the election of new officers.
