Mary Lou Shaddox, 77, of Jane, Mo., died Thursday, July 23,

2020, in the comfort of her daughter’s home in

Bella Vista,

Ark., with her family by her side.

She was born Aug. 30,

1942, in Powell, Mo., to the late Charles Clayton and Sadie Mae (Dishon) Jones. She was raised in Powell and was a 1960 graduate of Rocky Comfort High School. She was a lifelong resident of McDonald County. She was elected McDonald County Treasurer in 1982 and served a total of six four-year terms and also served as Administra­tor of the McDonald County Health Department, retiring in 2007 with 25 years of combined county service. Before public office, she owned and managed Chick’s Convenienc­e Store. She enjoyed cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals, Arkansas Razorbacks and Lady Mustang softball. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Jane.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Pauline Jones; a sister, Shirley Williams; daughterin-law, Kathy Shaddox; and a grandson, Jacob Taylor.

Survivors are her three children, Tray Shaddox (Tammy) of St. Stephens Church, Va., Shelli Sullivan of Anderson, Stacey Taylor of Bella Vista, Ark.; nine grandchild­ren; and brother, Bill Jones (Janice) of Belton.

Funeral services were held graveside Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at Fox Cemetery in Powell with Pastors Chadd Pendergraf­t and Bruce Love officiatin­g.

Memorials are being directed to the Fox Cemetery Care Fund c/o the funeral home.
