Historical Society Calendars Available
The 2021 McDonald County Historical Society calendars are now available.
Karen Dobbs, president of the historical society, said calendars are available on its website at mcdonaldcountyhistory.org under the “shop” tab.
“If you order it on our web page with PayPal it’s $14, or if you send us a check and we’ll mail you one,” she said. “In person, they’re $10 — at Rags to Riches in Anderson, Mustang Pharmacy in Anderson, Cornerstone Bank in Southwest City and at The Jane Store.”
She said patrons can also call the historical society and they will arrange a meeting to sell a calendar in Pineville.
Each year the historical society chooses a theme for its calendar. This time the theme is the history of the historic courthouse museum.
“It’s got pictures of it throughout history and fun facts and good information on events that happened,” Dobbs said. “It’s very near and dear to us as the historical society and we felt a need to document its history, and we have a lot of photographs and thought people would be interested in seeing the progression of the photographs. It is on the Historic Register and the focus of the historical society’s preserving and sharing the history of McDonald County.”
She added, “We hope to get people to come and visit us when we’re able to open again.”
This is the historical society’s 12th year to publish a calendar. Past calendars are available at a discount rate and may be requested by a telephone, email, or mail.
