Orchard Dental now open in Gravette

- BY SUSAN HOLLAND sholland@nwaonline.com

There’s a new face on Gravette Main Street with the arrival of a new dentist in the building at 111 Main Street S.E. Dr. Hayden Huett opened his practice March 4, taking over the location formerly occupied by Dr. Kent Leonard. Huett has chosen to call his business Orchard Dental in tribute to the area’s early reputation as a prime apple producing region.

Huett is a Tontitown native. He was a student at the University of Arkansas, then attended dental school at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. After graduation he operated a dental practice in Tennessee.

Having a desire to return to the area, Huett was quite interested when a former classmate in Tennessee contacted him and told him the Gravette practice would soon be available. He got in touch with Dr. Leonard and, although Leonard had other interested applicants, he was chosen to take over the practice. He has been working with Dr. Leonard since last October.

Huett offers comprehensive dental services for all ages, including pediatric patients. Routine cleanings, extractions, fillings, crowns and bridges are available. He does all his own surgery, including surgical implants, root canals and wisdom tooth removal. A patient can have the work done under sedation, if desired.

Dentures and partials can be obtained at Orchard Dental as well as Invisalign clear braces, which are less noticeable than regular wire braces. Huett stresses he is happy to offer all these services locally, without patients having to drive elsewhere for them.

Dr. Huett says he has been interested in being a dentist since he was in eleventh grade. “I realized I wasn’t going to make it in the NFL,” he quipped. He is working closely with Robin Hilger, sponsor of the health occupations program at Gravette High School, to arrange for some of her students to do job shadowing with him since he considers dentistry a great career path.

Dr. Huett is a newlywed. He and his wife, Reagan, were introduced by mutual friends. He says he took her frog gigging on their first date. Hayden and Reagan were married on Feb. 10. They have experienced a whirlwind of activity as they bought a house, got married, went on their honeymoon and bought a dental practice in just a short time.

The Huetts live in Centerton. Reagan is a physician assistant at Ozark Orthopedics. She has an office in Bentonville and works occasionally in Fayetteville.

Lindsey Choate, dental hygienist who formerly worked with Dr. Leonard, has stayed and is working with Dr. Huett. Kelly Hosteter is continuing parttime. Huett has hired two new office assistants. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday but Dr. Huett is on call 24 hours a day and is available for after hours emergencies. He will continue to care for Dr. Leonard’s former patients but welcomes new patients.

Dr. Huett is happy to be back in northwest Arkansas. He looks forward to meeting area residents. He invites all to contact him at 479-787-6671 to schedule an appointment.
