8 PM ( LIFE) MOVIE Stalked by My Husband’s Ex Hospitality queen Kristen Carter is overjoyed when her boyfriend Ryan Munson pops the question, and soon Kristen happily is anticipating becoming his wife and the stepmother to Lisa, Ryan’s 10-year-old daughter. As the big day approaches, however, strange and even deadly things start to happen around Kristen, leaving this bride-to-be fretting that her nuptials may turn into a funeral in this 2020 thriller. 8 PM ( HBO) MOVIE Motherless Brooklyn Edward Norton realized a passion project in bringing this 2019 adaptation of Jonathan Lethem’s novel of the same title, with Norton writing, directing, producing and starring in the film as Lionel Essrog, an eccentric detective with Tourette’s syndrome in 1950s New York. The film follows Lionel as he tries valiantly to solve the murder of his mentor (Bruce Willis). The fine ensemble also includes Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Alec Baldwin, Willem Dafoe, Bobby Cannavale, Cherry Jones, Michael K. Williams and Leslie Mann. Daniel Pemberton’s original score got an Oscar nomination.
8 PM ( SHO) MOVIE A Most Violent Year Despite a cast headed by rising A-list stars Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain, writer-director J.C. Chandor’s 2014 crime drama got blanked at the box office upon its initial release, but finally is garnering belated appreciation, thanks largely to widespread critical acclaim. Isaac stars as New York businessman Abel Morales, whose upand-coming company suffers when his trucks repeatedly are hit by hijackers, so he decides to arm his drivers. Chastain plays his strong-willed wife, Anna; David Oyelowo, Alessandro Nivola and Albert Brooks also star.
8 PM ( BBCA) Wild India Emmy Award winner Sir David Attenborough narrates this new one-hour special, which explores the state of Karnataka in Southern India, home to rain forests, coral reefs and a vast and diverse population of animals. Although Karnataka makes up only five percent of India’s landmass, a jaw-dropping 25 percent of all the country’s animal species live there, including more elephants and wild tigers than anywhere else on Earth. Camera teams spent three years, adding up to 15,000 hours in the field, gathering footage for this presentation.
8 PM ( OWN) Love & Marriage: Huntsville The couples begin to experience issues of their own in the new episode “The Gift of Escortion.” Much to Marsau’s dismay, Tisha chooses to make herself a priority, while Melody plays defense, speaking up on behalf of her name, marriage and professional brand. Just when Kimmi starts to settle into married life, Maurice starts pressuring her to make another big change. 9 PM ( TRAV) Believers With few other apparent options available to him, a bar owner resorts to an exorcism after his pregnant wife is attacked by an angry entity in the new episode “Hell’s Honky-Tonk.” In other stories, a family seeks help after their dog is literally scared to death, and a young boy is haunted by a ghost that isn’t just scary but has dark designs on the lad.
9:01 PM ( AP) Pit Bulls and Parolees Tia Torres and her team at Villalobos Rescue Center, the largest pit bull rescue in the United States, returns for another season of poignant episodes in which they try to find forever homes for these misunderstood dogs while offering second chances to former inmates recently released from prison. In the season premiere, the team receives an unexpected call as a local adopter returns her canine companion Sweetcakes not long after taking her home. Meanwhile, Mariah tries to help a sweet pup whose homeless owner was forced to surrender him. 10 PM ( TRAV) Hotel Paranormal A security guard tries to chase down a mysterious intruder at a remote luxury hotel in the new episode “Paranormal Target.” In other stories, an otherworldly creature follows two unlucky hikers all the way back to their hotel room, and a widow staying at a rustic bed-and-breakfast finds herself approached by a chilling demonic entity. Dan Aykroyd is the narrator.
