Florida adds 3,190 cases and 98 COVID-10 deaths

Florida’s Department of Health on Saturday confirmed 3,190 additional cases of COVID-19, bringing the state’s known total to 661,571. There were also 98 Florida resident deaths announced, bringing the resident death toll to 12,600.

Saturday’s day-to-day numbers dipped by 460 and 78, respective­ly, when compared to Friday’s daily figures. The number of deaths is the fewest since Tuesday’s count of 44.

Saturday’s reported 3,190 confirmed cases is still fewer than the single-day counts Florida was seeing back in July.

Miami-Dade County reported 415 confirmed cases of COVID-19, and 46 new deaths, according to Florida’s Department of Health. Both numbers declined compared to Friday. The county now has 163,790 confirmed cases and 2,882 deaths. The daily positivity rate is 4.72%.

Broward County reported 189 additional confirmed cases of the disease and three new deaths, fewer in both counts compared to Friday. The county now has a known total of 74,273 cases and 1,279 deaths. The daily positivity rate is 2.69%.

Palm Beach County saw 149 additional confirmed cases and three new deaths, also lower than reported Friday. The county now has 43,873 confirmed cases and 1,196 deaths. The daily positivity is 3.06%.

Monroe County saw two additional confirmed cases and no new deaths, a drop in reported day-today cases. The county now has a known total of 1,780 cases and 20 deaths. The daily positivity rate is 3.38%.

As of 11:46 a.m. Saturday, there were 2,684 COVID-19 patients admitted into hospitals throughout the state, according to the Florida Agency for Health Care Administra­tion dashboard.

Of those, 447 were in Miami-Dade, 299 in Broward, 146 in Palm Beach and four in Monroe counties, according to the agency.

The state had a total of 41,215 Florida residents hospitaliz­ed for COVID-19-related complicati­ons, according to Florida’s COVID-19 Data and Surveillan­ce Dashboard on Saturday, an increase of 194 compared to Friday’s figure.
